Intro to Me

My name is Erin Peterson. I am a geology student hoping to become a volcanologist. I'm going to Italy to study the four main volcanoes, Mt. Etna, Vesuvius, Stromboli, and Vulcano. Wish me luck with the blog!

I've never blogged before. But, I'm going to Europe with UW-RF this fall, that is, the fall of 2012, and I know a lot of my friends, family, and neighbors all want to be kept apprised of what I'm doing there and what's going on. So, I figured a blog might be the way to do it. This is going to be me. I'm going to type the way I would talk and say anything and everything I remember about my trip. I'll also be putting up lots of pictures from my trip. Hopefully I can figure it all out.

The Study Abroad: Europe program has students designing their own projects that are unique to their interests and majors. We go to a specific place on our own for about two months, and work on the project. Then, we spend November traveling Europe as we wish. We can go anywhere within the continent!

My project is to create a geologic tour of the four most famous volcanoes of southern Italy. I'm super psyched! I'm going to be working with at least one professional volcanologist there.
